God, our heavenly Father, is working in and through all things by His wisdom and power for the good of His people and the glory of His name.
 
The story of Joseph calls us to trust that God’s got this because His good providence guarantees His promises.

In Genesis chapters 42-45, the need for a process of reconciliation led to a path of restoration that ultimately led to a promise of revitalization.

Chapters 40 and 41 of Genesis, take us to through Joseph’s lowest and highest point. We learn that God has a design in the delay and we must be hopeful in suffering and humble in success.

The Decision

In Genesis 39, we see the events that surrounded Joseph’s temptation and he serves as an example of trusting God to overcome it.

The Detour Genesis 37:12-36

The providence of God is an act of His grace and kindness by which, in His wisdom and power, He preserves and governs all the events of the lives of His creatures for their good and His glory.
 
In God’s providence, God planned a detour in Joseph’s life and used it to fulfill His purposes for him.

The Dream
Genesis 37:2-11; 50:20
 
Providence: God does hold, direct, dispose, and govern all creatures, actions and things, from the greatest even to the least, by his most wise and holy providence… to the praise of the glory of his wisdom, power, justice, goodness and mercy.
 
From the beginning of Joseph’s story, we see the providence of God and how God’s dream for Joseph’s life was not what he thought it would be but it would change the world forever.
